History

Our Story

Before there was a building, there was a burden.

A small group of believers began gathering with a shared conviction: that God was calling them to reach people in Winston-Salem with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They prayed for their neighbors, their community, and for a church that would be rooted in Scripture, shaped by grace, and committed to making disciples.

Out of those prayers, Triad Christian Fellowship was born.

How It Began

In the early days, the church met in temporary spaces, first in a hotel, then in a local middle school. These weren’t just logistical decisions; they reflected something deeper. From the very beginning, TCF was never about a building. It was about people.

Week by week, families gathered. The Word was preached. Relationships were formed. And God continued to bring growth numerically and in both spiritual depth and commitment to one another.

God’s Faithfulness Over Time

As the church grew, God provided in ways that made it clear this was His work, not ours. What began as a small gathering of believers developed into a stable church family with a permanent home and a deepening sense of mission.

Through every season, meeting in borrowed spaces, stepping into a permanent facility, and continuing to grow, God has been faithful.

Key Milestones

• A Burden to Begin (1997)
  A group of believers begins praying and dreaming about a gospel-centered church in the Triad.
• A Church is Planted (Dec 1999)
  Triad Christian Fellowship launches and begins meeting in a hotel.
• A Season of Growth
  The church moves to a middle school, where community deepens and the congregation grows.
• A Permanent Home (2012)
  God provides a building, establishing a long-term place for ministry and gathering.
• A Continued Mission
  Today, TCF continues to grow as a church family committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ.

The Same Mission Today

While much has changed over the years, our mission has not.

We exist to gather, grow, and go as disciples of Jesus.

• We gather to worship and center our lives on God’s Word.
• We grow in community as we follow Christ together.
• We go into our neighborhoods and the nations with the hope of the gospel.

What started as a small group of people with a burden is now a church family, but the heart is still the same.
